December Recap

Thank you to all of our parents for donating goodies to our holiday party.

A great time was had by one and all!!!

In the month of January, the children will be exploring our planet Earth and our solar system. We will learn how our planet compares to the other planets in our solar system. This will also include the study of landforms, oceans and some of the animals that live on our planet.

We will also talk about the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. We will have a discussion on peace and friendship and what it means to have an idea and a dream.

Applications and tuition information for the 2022-2023 school year will be going out shortly. Applications for the 2022-2023 school year are due 1/21/22.

School will be closed on Monday, January 17, 2022 in observance of MLK Day.

Winter Reminders

The winter weather will soon be here and with that comes SNOW. We will continue to follow the Montville public school schedule for snow closings and delayed openings. Announcements are on News 12TV, WOR 710 AM, WSUS 102 FM and WGHT 1500 AM Radio. We will also send a text message to your phone with any delay or cancellation alerts.

Please check your child’s backpack for warm clothing for the winter months. Every child should have a complete change of clothes. Please remember to write your child’s name inside all clothing.

We will continue to go outdoors for playtime providing the temperature is above 32 degrees. Please send your child to school with a warm coat, hat and gloves. If your child wears boots to school, please bring in slippers or shoes for the indoors We will send you an additional notice for snow pants and boots if we are going out to play in the snow.

Just a reminder, December 23rd is the last day of school before we close for the winter recess.  This is an 11:30 early dismissal day. There will be no lunch or afternoon classes.

School will be closed December 24th

 to January 2nd .  We will return on January 3rd.

November News

Last month everyone enjoyed celebrating the beginning of Autumn. We also discovered important information about fire safety and the meaning of being a community helper. 

 The children had a great time pumpkin-picking and a 

spook-tacular time at our Halloween party!!

This month the children will explore and have fun with, “Our Five Senses”. We will learn about Native American Indians and the First Thanksgiving.

October News 

Last month the children enjoyed learning about primary and secondary colors, geometric shapes and our community helpers.  Everyone has been very busy exploring and becoming comfortable with the different areas in the classroom.

Also, our classroom specials began!

Music with the JamCats- Bi-monthly/Tuesday morning

Science Exploration – Bi-monthly/Wednesday afternoon

Art– Bi-monthly/ Wednesday afternoon

Yoga/Large Motor Skill Activities– every Friday afternoon

Show-n-Tell – every Friday-morning and afternoon.  

This month the children will be studying the explorations of Christopher Columbus, the importance of fire prevention/safety week, the beautiful season of autumn and of course, Halloween!!

Brook Hollow Barnyard Field Trip

We will be taking a field trip to Brook Hollow Barnyard on Friday, October 15th.

Our permission slip includes all the details for the trip. Please keep an eye out for a separate Brightwheel message with access to the form.
